Description
Purnima, the daughter of Bijaya Shrestha and Kalpana Shrestha, entered the world in 2012 AD in Changunarayan Municipality of Bhaktapur near the Hopeful Home location. She is from an impoverished family who depend on agriculture. Her parents disappeared, and didn't look after their children well.
Purnima and her younger brother were living with their uncle. Their uncle had made an arrangement for them to go to public school but they were irregular in school. They used to go to Changunarayan temple to beg with tourists and pilgrimages. Changu Narayan is considered to be the oldest temple of Nepal. It remains a milestone in Nepali temple architecture with rich embossed works.
They were brought to the orphanage by a child welfare officer of Changunarayan Municipality. Despite her challenging background, she finds joy in dancing and favoring the color white. Sometimes it is very difficult to handle her in the orphanage. She wants to go out and not to follow the daily routine of a student.
Currently enrolled in grade 9 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, she is a very weak student who faced a difficult start in her education journey. Hope she will make progress by that time. Despite the difficulties, she remains determined to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for herself.
