Description
Santosh Chepang, the son of Sher Bahadur Chepang and Devimaya Chepang, entered the world in 2010 AD in Mahadevsthan, Dhading, situated in the hills outside the Kathmandu Valley. Hailing from the impoverished Chepang community, known as one of the poorest indigenous groups in Nepal, his family has faced considerable challenges. The Chepang people, characterized by their semi-nomadic history, have struggled with the rugged terrain, making permanent farming challenging. The forest has remained a crucial source of sustenance for the Chepang. Unfortunately, factors such as forced teenage pregnancies and limited access to education beyond elementary school have contributed to their plight.
