Description
Bhumashwori Chepang, the Daughter of Dipak Chepang and Hitmaya Chepang, entered the world in 2010 AD in Benighta Dhading, situated in the hills outside the Kathmandu Valley. Coming from the impoverished Chepang community, known as one of the poorest indigenous groups in Nepal, Bhuma's family has faced considerable challenges.
Tragedy struck Bhuma's family eight years ago when her father passed away by massive earthquake in 2015. With seven members in the family, including parents, three sisters, and two brothers, the situation worsened as her mother eloped with another man. Bhuma's stepfather treated her poorly, and her two elder sisters were married off in their teenage years.
Bhuma, along with her elder brother Roman, was referred to Hopeful Home Orphanage by the Benighat municipality officer, seeking a better life and opportunities for them. Since 2016 AD, she has been residing in the orphanage. Despite her challenging background, she exudes her generosity to all. She finds joy in singing, listening to Nepali pop songs, and favoring the color y green.
Currently enrolled in grade 5 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, Bhuma faced a late start in her education journey, making progress slowly. Despite the difficulties, she remains determined to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for herself.
