Description

Bikal, the son of Bijaya Shrestha and Kalpana Shrestha, entered the world in 2012 AD in Changunarayan Municipality of Bhaktapur near the hopeful home location. He is from an impoverished family who depends on agriculture. His parents disappeared, and didn't look after their children well. Bikal and his elder sister Purnima were living with their uncle. Their uncle had made an arrangement for them to go to public school but they were irregular in school. They used to go to Changunarayan temple to beg with tourists and pilgrimages. Changu Narayan is considered to be the oldest temple of Nepal. It remains a milestone in Nepali temple architecture with rich embossed works. They were brought to the orphanage by a child welfare officer of Changunarayan Municipality. Despite his challenging background, he finds joy in playing soccer and favoring the color purple. Sometimes it is very difficult to handle him in the orphanage. He cries to go out, not doing homework, sleep more hours, etc. Currently enrolled in grade 4 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, he is a very weak student who faced a difficult start in his education journey. Despite the difficulties, he remains determined to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for himself.
